“A Taste of PUSH” Summer Preview, 4th of July Block Party in Weaverville

PUSH Productions is pleased to announce our Summer Runway Preview, “A Taste of PUSH,” to be scheduled as part of Weaverville’s “4th of July Block Party,” from 5:45pm to 6:15pm, just before famed 8-piece Afrobeat band, Afromotive takes the stage. This amazing all day festival will be located in the countryside of Weaverville’s North Buncombe High School soccer grounds on Sunday, July 4. Scheduled to feature in the PUSH preview will be local boutiques; Hip Replacements, Honeypot, Spiritex, Twice Round, New York Fashions, Feathers Gallery, and Blaze n’ Skyy. Also featuring summer fashion wear will be local designers; Sarahbeth Larrimore of Unabashed Apparel, Daniella of More Than Mammal, and jewelry featured from local jewelers; Amber Hatchett of Vintage Vanity, Jade Kale of Jade Stone Jewelery, and designers 75Rabbit along with Devochka.
“We are very excited and honored to help out by hosting a summer runway fashion show at Weaverville’s, 4th of July all-day festival. I know that the perspective we are coming from, to bring Asheville fashion to the forefront—will be of interest to Asheville citizens at this event. We’re going to have fun and flat out represent fashion from within our city.” said PUSH Executive, Sonia Hendrix.

PUSH Productions is announcing their second annual fashion show, PUSH ASHEVILLE FASHION, July 16th at the Orange Peel. Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show. The fashion show serves as the finale of a two month long campaign to support the local fashion industry in town by parading an onslaught of blogs, you tube videos, tweets, facebook fan pages, posters, flyers, and model searches. PUSH will be featuring locally based clothing designers, boutiques, and local jewelers in the largest produced fashion show to come through the doors of the Orange Peel. Fashion is everywhere in Asheville–the mission of PUSH is to bring it to the forefront of people’s minds.
Starting at 9pm we will feature a runway show of local designers featuring local jeweler: Jade Stone Jewelry and the following local clothing designers….
Daniella: More Than Mammal, Stina Andersen: Arteries, Alexis Gault: Lush Life, Moe Donnelly: Sew Moe, Seth Musngi: Orb Clothing, Stephanie Geisler: Mind Over Matter, Peace Weaver, Marylou Marsh: Spiritex, Anne Mettee: Hazel Anne Designs, GiGi Renee: Vintage Moon, and Sarahbeth Larrimore: Unabashed Apparel
Starting at 10pm we will feature the finale runway show of 18 local boutiques:
Ad-Lib Casual Clothing, Constance, Moda, Custom Boutique, Spiritex, Minx, Union, Hip Replacements, Feathers Gallery, Twice ‘Round, Ox and Rabbit, New York Fashions, Honeypot, Parlour, Royal Peasantry, Frock, Va Va Voom, and Blaze n’ Skyy
Guests can expect to be wowed by a lineup of entertainment acts ranging from Spontaneous Couture to Live Body Art to Flash Mob Dancing.
Need I mention the networking? PUSH ASHEVILLE FASHION at the Orange Peel on July 16th, is going to be jam-packed with store owners, designers, fashion lovers, and local jewelers for a second annual fashion expo. Surely this is an event not to be missed–!

The fashion show is for people of all ages. Boutiques will be featuring a range of casual summer wear, to evening wear. Guests can also expect to see a variety of couture interpretations from local designers. Each designer will be featuring their best sold items as well as some over the top designs.
The fashion show is a benefit for local organization Asheville Grown Business Alliance. Creator Franzi Charen stated, “Thank you so much for this opportunity – you know this money is going to benefit the community and local independent businesses in Asheville. We are an entirely volunteer based grassroots organization, so the money will go directly to fund networking events, speakers and projects that positively promote our local economy.”
PUSH is flying down famous designer, Elisa Jimenez, familiar to Asheville via her work at last year’s HATCH Fest. Jiminez is also well known for her participation in the 2007 season of Project Runway. As a part of this year’s PUSH ASHEVILLE FASHION, Jiminez will be performing, Spontaneous Couture, on stage in between the two runway shows, wearing a highly anticipated couture dress, designed by Asheville’s very own, Brooke Priddy of Ship to Shore.
Lastly..
PUSH originally started as a school project through Phi Beta Lambda at ABTech, headed up by Western Region Vice President: Sonia Hendrix. The show is meant to serve as a campaign to support the local fashion industry and raise awareness about the myriad of talented designers living right here in Asheville.

Our purpose is to specialize in promoting the affordability at shopping with these businesses. Our purpose is to reveal the unique qualities of each individual contributing to the local fashion industry.
This website is setup to serve as a means of finding all the local fashion under one webpage. PUSH ASHEVILLE FASHION, is the hub for meeting the local boutique owners and designers. PUSH ASHEVILLE FASHION 2010, runway show will officially take place at the famed Orange Peel, located on Biltmore Ave, in the heart of Asheville, Friday night–July 16th. Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are $15 ahead of time and $20 the day of the show. Tickets go on sale June 10th at all stores participating in the show.
